The decision to start Alipurduar Nilkanta Mukherjee Welfare Society was a conscious one with the aim of not only helping people of this district but also taking ahead my father’s dream. My father Late Nilkanta Mukherjee was a dreamer who knew well that education is the only weapon to be useful in coming days. He devoted his lifetime with the aim of educating people and also spreading the benefit of school education through establishment of a number of schools. Though he was associated with Mc William High School in his professional career, his educational interest was beyond the geographical boundary of Alipurduar city.I am thankful to my associates, friends and colleagues of this society who came forward towards fulfilment of the dream, dreamt by Nilkanta Mukherjee. Though our journey has started in a very small scale with limited financial resources, we hope to expand our activities in near future. Working for a voluntary organisation has a different kind of satisfaction and interest. I can proudly assure that the members of this society also uphold the same vision and are more than enthusiastic to be a part of this endeavour.
