Alipurduar Nilkanta Mukherjee Welfare Society was officially announced on 28th April 2018. The Society was started in memory of the Late Shri Nilkanta Mukherjee, well-known in the region for his philanthropy and benevolence. The vision of the Society is to carry on his legacy and help as many people as possible in and around the Alipurduar district. The Society wants to focus its activities on education, health care, care for senior citizens, distribution of clothes to the needy and organising awareness programmes. Besides these activities, eminent scholars organise Nilkanta Mukherjee Memorial Lecture every year. The mission of the Society is to reach out to the people and be of help and service to them.
